20 March 2015 No Comment

AMOR is a charity organization that provides items for the POP (Poorest of the Poor) babies and children, been treated for cancer or lung and heart problems at Steve Biko Hospital, Pretoria.
Ten Thousand Blocks for AMOR is a special project that Nilla’s Needlecraft, Centurion launched last year.
They aim to reach their dream of 10,000 knitted or crochet blocks to be sewn together in small blankets by the end of May 2015 to be handed to the POP (Poorest of the Poor) babies and children for winter.
More than 1,000 blocks have already been received from all over the country as well as from the USA and the Netherlands.
There are no restrictions on the colour of the yarns used, but it must be kept in mind that the blankets are to be distributed to babies and small children.
Ladies are also invited to assist with the sewing together of the blocks for small blankets.
Ronel Oosthuizen further identified the need for clothes for the POP pre-mature babies that are been send home wearing nappies made from newspapers.
As a result of a request through social media, donations of materials and tracksuit pants have been received and parcels with pajamas, tracksuits, caps and socks are been sewn together to be handed to AMOR for the pre-mature babies and children when they go home.
For more information or to drop off your knitted or crocheted blocks and other donations, please contact Nilla’s Needlecraft at telephone 012 – 663 1430 or 082 560 3042 or email them at ronel@nillas.co.za.
