Celebrating Mandela Day in Olievenhoutbosch
The Community Hall at Olievenhoutbosch is on Mondays a hive of activity when the aged are taught to do stitch work and other crafts.
The Centurion acquired permission from dr Elma Krüger, director of the Centurion Council for the Aged, to celebrate Mandela Day with soup and other goodies at the Hall.
On Monday 22 July 2013 the group was very excited as the soup that was collected at the soup-and-sherry day held the previous week at Hirsch’s Centurion, was handed to them.
Hospice Centurion also donated books and The Cake Factory in Doringkloof baked and donated 67 cupcakes.
The SA Defence Force, social welfare department also requested to be more involved with the community in Olievenhoutbosch and handed food& gift parcels to the group.
Spontaneous singing, praying and dancing to celebrate Mandela month, caused for a very happy day enjoyed by all.
