This month we celebrate Mother’s Day and we would like to wish all mothers, stepmothers, adopted mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers a very happy Mother’s Day.

Mayor makes large donation to Tshwane SPCA

Local resident, Charlotte Tiley decided to approach the Executive Mayor of Tshwane, Councillor Kgosientso Ramokgopa on Twitter and asked if he could see her as she needed his help.
He agreed and they had a meeting where Charlotte discussed a cause very close to her heart – animal welfare.

Local finalist Aspire to Inspire

Nomfundo Zonke, an 18 year old beauty from Centurion made it through to be a finalist in the Miss Teen Commonwealth South African pageant.
She grew up in the township Vosloorus but has been living in Centurion since 2010 and love the tranquil vibe of the area.
Growing up as a tomboy she never thought that she would ever be entering a beauty pageant.

Six guest speakers at Centurion Business Forum network function

The Centurion Business Forum held their April network function at Vintage Coffee, Centurion.
Jaco Duvenhage was the acting chairman for the day with Maritza du Plessis leading the proceedings.

Carpets and cushions donated by Hirsch’s Centurion

Hirsch’s Centurion donated four carpets and eleven cushions to Meleney Kriel CEO: Viva Foundation SA to use in their classrooms.
The Viva Foundation SA provides early learning, day care and pre-school experience with the Viva Kids Early Learning programme and concept.
The Viva Kids ‘Stations of Learning’ programme was developed specially for children in informal settlements, who have been found to be behind in school-readiness as a result of a lack of movement and mental and social stimulation.

Northlands Girls High School launched a New Kitchen

Northlands Girls High School in Durban decided to strip their existing outdated kitchen block and revamp it completely.
The school visited the Hirsch’s Umhlanga store and discussed their intention with sales consultant Teresa Naidoo and the decision was made to take thirteen stoves, two double door fridges, two freezers, dish washers and two microwaves.

SACBW Centurion Collecting funds for iDuct Project

The SA Council for Business Women (SACBW) Centurion decided to take their fundraising efforts for the iDuct Project to the streets in Centurion with a tin-collection.
The funds raised are used to manufacture a soft toy duck and gown to comfort children that were sexually molested, a soft nightgown to comfort women after they were raped and an apron for men to show their support.
These items can also be purchased from the SACBW to further assist the project that has been extended to all branches throughout the country.

Effective Networking at Hirsch’s Centurion

The topic of the business networking event at Hirsch’s Centurion for April 2015 was on effective networking..
The dynamic guest speaker was Ockert Möller from the Institute of Human Development who is also an author, life coach and business mentor as well as a Master Neuro Linguistic Program Practitioner.
After a lucky draw and everyone introduced their businesses, the guests enjoyed sponsored snacks, coffee and healthy tasters while they networked.

Kotie Potgieter from Mind Mastery and Individual Neuro Design was the guest speaker at the April 2015 Ladies Morning at Hirsch’s Centurion.
