For the past ten years people from all walks of life have been getting involved in showing solidarity and support for cancer survivors by shaving, spraying or donating their ponytails for the annual Cansa Shavathon.
This year corporates, schools and organisations have the opportunity to host their own Shavathon from 24 to 28 February 2014 while Shavathon events will happen at shopping centres on Saturday 1 March 2014.
The cost to shave, spray or donate a ponytail is R50 for adults and R25 for children under 12 years old.

After a heavy downpour of rain in the early hours of the morning, water accumulated and the between 11h00 and 15h00 on 5 February 2014 the Hennops River rushed through Centruion flooding bridges, streets and homes in its path.
Emergency staff had to rescue a man and his three dogs under the bridge at End Street another man at Lenchen Street and someone from the roof of his car that got caught in the rushing water.

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan invites South Africans to send their tips on what they would like to see in the country’s budget.
The Budget Tips is an on-going campaign to garner citizens’ views on economic matters.
The public is encouraged to send through tips on matters relating to tax, how government can improve public finance management, boost economic growth and address unemployment.
Tips can be sent via the website www.treasury.gov.za or it can be fax to 012 315 5126 on Pravin Gordhan’s facebook fan page/National Treasury South Africa.

A successful business networking function at Hirsch’s Centurion was attended by more than fifty people representing various businesses.
Helgaard Raubenheimer, business consultant at The Tax Shop Centurion, presented an informative talk on the new Employment Tax Incentive Bill, 2013.
After the presentation, numerous questions were answered by Helgaard.
Everyone also had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their businesses.
A lucky draw took place and various prizes donated by some of the businesses, were handed to excited recipients.
