Free Wi-Fi to Empower the Community

With the use of technology to empower its community and the introduction of eTshwane, smart meters and now free Wi-Fi connectivity, Tshwane residents have much to celebrate.
The City’s free Wi-Fi initiative recently went live at Church Square.
The roll-out of free internet connectivity across Tshwane is part of the Tshwane Vision 2055’s smart city initiative of becoming a resilient, inclusive and liveable city.
The launch marks the completion of phase one of the roll-out plan, which will provide fully managed free internet zones to residents of the city.

Voorsitter van die Centurion Sakekamer se vooruitsig vir 2014

Die Centurion Sakekamer gaan in 2014 voortbou op die suksesse wat bereik is gedurende 2014.
Dit is ons visie om ‘n sterk platvorm daar te stel vir dinamiese besigheidsinteraksie om groei te ondersteun.
In 2014 wil ons fokus op drie aspekte om ons visie en doelwitte te bereik.

My brother, living in Lyttelton and author of the skaak rubriek in The Centurion, is these days visiting me in Delft, Netherlands. He gave me a copy of The Centurion November 2013, in which I have read your article about classic cars.
I remember the Packard and the Panhard very well. In our country the type, as shown on the other pictures, were used for funerals. They were also equipped with a Perkins diesel to be used as taxis. …

CAA year ended on a high note

The Centurion Accommodation Association (CAA) recently held their year-end function at LemonJack Theatre, Studio & Guesthouse.
Christel van Heerden is the owner and she is also the newly elected chairperson for the CAA.
Kevin Leo entertained the guests before a lovely light lunch was served.

Oud-Voorsitters kuier saam

In samewerking met Acctech, CCBC en die Centurion Sakekamer is daar onlangs ‘n ontbyt vir oud-voorsitters gehou.
Theo Voster het ook ‘n kopie van sy nuutste boek aan elke gas oorhandig.
Die oudste voorsitter teenwoordig was mnr Smit van Rooy wat tans 91 jaar oud is.

W&G Team treated residents at Irene Homes

Ronnie Magic, owner of the Print Factory and the W&G Team decided to combine the celebration of her birthday with the International Day for Persons with Disabilities and treated the residents at Irene Homes with her W&G Dog show.
With donations by herself and some of her friends, she then handed goody bags to the residents and staff.

Christmas comes early for Centurion Hospice

Centurion Hospice celebrated the end of the year on 30 November 2013 with a Christmas market on their premises.
Visitors to the market were entertained by 15 young singers from Respiro studios entertained the crowd.
There were interesting food stalls and various products on sale.
The event was also supported by the Centurion Streetrod Club showcasing some of their vintage cars.

Olievenhoutbosch Business Forum launched

After months of organising, Xoli Maleko, management member of the Centurion Business Forum recently launched the Olievenhoutbosch Business Forum (OBF).
The OBF will function as a division of the Centurion Business Forum to accommodate the emerging businesses in Olievenhoutbosch.
Bishop Mopereo did the opening prayer and guest speakers included Gerhard Marais, Yusuf Abramjee, Stephen Miller and Councillor Aaron Maluleka.
Gary Ferreira, management member of the Centurion Business Forum, handed certificates to members.
