Family Fun Day in Olievenhoutsbosch

4 October 2010 No Comment

Collective Inheritance, a Public Benefit Organisation in Centurion, recently hosted a Family Fun Day for the Community of Olievenhoutsbosch at Philena Primary School.

Director, Smartryk Treurnicht, said that with a super organised team of seven members and 31volunteers they were able to have a fantastic fun-filled day.

The team handed out 1200 hotdogs and juice to both young and old.

Through various donations and sponsorships they were also able to hand out 370 food parcels as well as 398 parcels of clothing to women and children.

It brought pure joy to see mothers cry in thankfulness or jump ecstatically as this was their first meal for the week.

This might be the only food they will now have for the month and possibly the only clothes they might receive for a year or two.

“Looking into the eyes of precious children and giving them love and hope and the chance to accept Jesus into their hearts brought change into our lives” Treurnicht said.

Entertaining them, painting their faces, watching them jump on the donated jumping castles – this is but a simple way to let them know we really do care, he added.

Collective Inheritance will have their next outreach at Philena Primary School on 23 October 2010 and will welcome any food and clothing donations.

Should you wish to support them, please contact Charl Smith on 012 644 0111 or visit their website www.collectiveinheritance.co.za
